That is a store-level cost, not a per-agent charge. Compare it with the support time currently spent answering order-status tickets and manually checking delayed parcels.
Step 3: Connect one source of truth
Connect the ecommerce store to the tracking tool using the vendor's official app or connector. Then confirm that the order number, customer email, fulfilment status, carrier, tracking number, tracking URL and estimated delivery date appear on the same test record.
Klaviyo can trigger flows from Shopify fulfilled-order events, including partial fulfilment. These platforms process customer and order data in vendor cloud systems. Klaviyo states that customer data is stored in the United States, while AfterShip states that its services are hosted on Google Cloud Platform and Amazon Web Services in the United States. Malomo's public privacy page does not clearly state a hosting location, so request its current DPA, subprocessor list and hosting details before sending sensitive customer data.
Step 7: Test, launch gradually and measure ticket reduction
Run test orders through every state you can control, including partial fulfilment, a cancelled label and a delivered order. Check mobile layout, sender authentication, order variables, tracking links, time zones, duplicate messages, reply handling and the path from an exception email to a human support agent.
Launch standard shipping and delivered messages first, then add delay and exception flows after the base data is stable. Compare weekly order-status tickets per 100 shipments, tracking-page visits, email delivery, link clicks, reply volume and the percentage of exceptions resolved without a second customer contact. Revenue attribution is secondary to accuracy and reduced support effort in this workflow.
Troubleshooting common shipping-email problems
- No email fires: confirm the shipment event exists in the platform, the flow is live and the recipient is not blocked by an unintended filter.
- Two emails fire: find the duplicate sender in Shopify, the carrier, the fulfilment app or the previous email platform.
